Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Consulting Engineers

Design and specification work for new and retrofit building services with the emphasis on the supply of low CO2 piped heat from CHP and other low carbon sources to meet clients heating and domestic hot water requirements and reducing its CO2 emissions and global warming impact.

Trouble shooting and faults in heating systems causing poor supply of heat or domestic hot water.  Expert witness work.

National energy strategy work, Lithuania, Kaliningrad, St Petersburg, Belarus, Ukraine, Crimea. and due diligence work Romania Kazakhstan. CHP, district heat and retrofitting buildings.

Current work EU funded Ecostiler project optimising district heat to retrofit domestic sector for UK where heat currently rejected in electricity generation is 480 TWh of energy and gas supply to the domestic sector is 267 TWh. www.ecostiler.com

Analysis of optimal options for UK domestic, heat sector to meet 2050 targets. Energy under first law is always conserved and delivered energy different to primary energy. Exergy measuring the quality of energy a more useful tool than efficiency. Given CO2 is our target CO2 footprints are key. For biomass its CO2 emissions when burnt have to be included in any analysis to optimise its use and realise the potential of negative CO2 emissions by adding carbon capture and storage when it is burnt.
